Terms and Conditions

“Booking” or “Contract” denotes any verbal or written agreement between the Customer and the Company for the provision of goods and/or services.

"Company", “we” or “us” refers to Rochester Furniture Hire (Company No. 15653562).

"Customer" or “you” means any individual, business, or organisation engaging the services or products of the Company.

“Furniture” or “Goods” refers to all items subject to any agreement between the Company and the Customer, regardless of ownership status.

“Hire period” or “Rental period” is the duration of the furniture hire.

Hire charges are quoted per week. No refunds or discounts will be applied once the hire period begins.

The hire period begins at the point of delivery and ends upon collection of the goods by the Company.

The Customer is fully responsible for the care and maintenance of the hired goods for the entire hire period.

Unless pre-agreed in writing, all invoices must be paid at the time of booking. Failure to do so will result in non-delivery.

All hired goods remain the sole property of Rochester Furniture Hire at all times.

Unless otherwise stated, all hire goods are pre-used and may show signs of previous use.

Order cancellations/reductions to orders incur the following cancellation/reduction fees (dependent on the amount of notice given):
- More than 14 days before the event: 25% of the invoice total
- Within 14 days of the event: 50% of the invoice total
- Within 7 days of the event: 100% of the invoice total
(These orders are non-cancellable as we reserve stock immediately upon confirmation, and in many cases turn away other business on reserved stock.)
13. Goods may display Rochester Furniture Hire branding, including logo and contact information. Tampering with or removing branding will be considered damage, and repair costs will be charged to the Customer.
14. Minor damage consistent with fair use is covered by the damage waiver. Any damage beyond fair wear and tear will result in charges for repair or refurbishment, which the Customer agrees to cover.
15. If any item is lost or irreparably damaged, the Customer is liable for the full replacement cost. It is the Customer’s responsibility to obtain appropriate insurance. Damage includes burns, cuts, marks, staining, and defacement. All linen must be returned dry and in the original packaging provided. Replacement costs are available on request in writing.
16. While Rochester Furniture Hire will make every effort to meet requested delivery and collection times, it accepts no liability for costs or damages resulting from delays.
17. Rochester Furniture Hire is not liable for failing to fulfil contractual obligations where performance is hindered by events beyond its control, including but not limited to fire, weather conditions, strikes, labour disputes, or Customer actions.
18. If collection is delayed, the Customer remains responsible for the safekeeping of the items.
19. No refunds are provided for early return of goods.
20. The Customer must ensure suitable access for delivery and collection at the specified times. Failure to do so may result in waiting charges at a rate of £40 per hour. Any parking fines or related costs incurred during delivery or collection will be billed to the Customer. In addition, any delays caused by the Customer that require additional journeys will also incur extra charges.
21. These terms can only be altered in writing and must be authorised by a Company Director. We reserve the right to amend these conditions at any time without prior notice.
22. No individual employee of the Company shall be personally liable for any loss or damage arising beyond their reasonable control while acting in the course of their employment.
23. By sending photos to the Company, the Customer grants permission for their use on the Company’s website and/or social media platforms.
24. Payment in part or in full constitutes full acceptance of these terms and conditions.
25. Rochester Furniture Hire accepts no liability for any damage to property arising during the delivery or collection of goods, provided reasonable care is taken by its staff. Furthermore, the Company shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from the misuse, mishandling, or incorrect movement of the hired furniture by the Customer or any third party.
